FaZe Clan adds a Rainbow Six academy squad after its new youth push

The new FaZe Up Next roster features five Brazilian players and coach Rules as the org builds out its academy esports program.

FaZe Clan has added a Rainbow Six academy roster to its new FaZe Up Next esports program, widening the project it introduced on April 14. The organization did not outline many details at first, but it has now revealed the first Rainbow Six team under the banner.

The move lands after a busy stretch around FaZe’s main esports brand. Rainbow Six was not the game many Counter-Strike fans were hoping for after the recent roster talk around karrigan and Team Falcons, but FaZe is clearly putting time into building a pipeline beyond its headline teams.

FaZe’s current Rainbow Six side comes with a deep Brazilian core, and the timing matters. The organization’s main roster won the Six Invitational earlier this year, then did it again for a second straight title, as BLAST highlighted in its February 15 post.

The FaZe Up Next R6 roster is made up of Hurbyz, Hax, Felpsz, Vinicius “Lendao” Siqueira, Jonathas “Jow” Pinto, and coach Rules.

Jow may be the most familiar name for Rainbow Six followers. He previously played for 9z Team and faced FaZe during the South America League 2025, where 9z finished last.

Rules also posted his own reaction, saying he was excited to start the project and thanking RafadeLL and Ivan Roichman for helping bring the idea to life. That kind of backing suggests FaZe wants this academy effort to be more than a one-off signing. The main FaZe Rainbow Six roster is still headed into the BLAST R6 Major Salt Lake City, so the organization now has both a top team and a developmental squad moving at the same time.

If FaZe keeps expanding like this, the big question is whether other divisions get the same academy treatment next. Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
