Tarkov’s new Casus Belli event is live, but not every account can jump in
Battlestate Games said the event runs through April 15, but PvE profiles only qualify if they were created or wiped after Escape from Tarkov 1.0.

Battlestate Games has pushed a new Escape from Tarkov event called Casus Belli into the game, and it is already running across Tarkov’s maps. The studio described the event in a post on X, where it said the task line is open to all PvP players and to PvE profiles created or wiped after the 1.0 release.
The in-game event “Casus belli” is now live in #EscapefromTarkov.
The task line is available to all PvP players and PvE profiles created or wiped after the 1.0 release.

The catch is the one that will matter to a small slice of players. If you are on PvE and never wiped after version 1.0 arrived on November 15, 2025, Casus Belli stays locked out. Battlestate said the event will run until April 15 at 2:00 PM GMT, which is 10:00 AM EDT.
In the event itself, Pillagers have turned up in the Norvinsk region, extending the recent streak of Tarkov live events built around shifting enemies and scavenger-style threats. The opening task is also live now, and it asks players to eliminate five Pillagers across Tarkov’s maps and turn in three found-in-raid painted CQCM masks worn by the group.
For anyone already jumping in, the bigger wrinkle is that the event is available in both PvE and PvP, but only if your account clears that wipe requirement on the PvE side. Battlestate has not listed a broader workaround, so players who kept their original PvE profiles from before 1.0 are still shut out for now.
We will keep an eye on how the rest of the task line develops. If you have already started Casus Belli, tell us what you think in the comments, and you can also join us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
