Five Steam releases from early April that deserve a look

The April 7 roundup includes a psychological visual novel, a retail life sim, a wasteland food truck shooter, a roguelike with online multiplayer, and a new entry in the Grime series.

Steam adds a steady stream of new releases every day, and a lot of them slip by without much attention. This batch from April 1 through April 4 includes five smaller games that range from horror-tinged storytelling to grimy action and a sequel for fans of tough platforming combat.

Stiff Neck

Steam page · Released April 3 · Developer: 伤官制作组 Team Uranian

Stiff Neck is a visual novel with a striking art style and a quiet streak of psychological horror. It follows Noele, a small-town cop dealing with a serious neck problem, while a strange circle of possible love interests enters the picture and one of them may be the mysterious “Flayer.” The setting feels stuck between eras, with details like a toy-factory strike, a cursed doll plague, and an AI dog giving the whole thing a slightly off-kilter edge.

Which Sausage, Mate?

Steam page · Released April 3 · Developer: Koksny.com

This life sim follows Kazio, a Polish man who loses his job at a coal mine and ends up working retail at what the game calls “Poland’s landmark convenience store.” By day, he scans items at the register. By night, he has to decide how to spend limited money on food, rent, medicine, school, and healing. The game also includes multiple endings, a cast of characters that drift in and out of the checkout line, and random events that keep each run from settling into a routine.

Wasteland Bites

Steam page · Released April 4 · Developer: CosmicDev

Wasteland Bites trades the convenience store for a food truck in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. You cook, fight aliens and mutants, and keep pushing toward a distant beach that is supposedly free of radiation. It is part road trip, part combat game, and part grim snack bar, with enough toxic chaos to make the journey feel rough from the start.

It Has My Face

Steam page · Released April 4 · Developers: NightByte Games

Formerly called DoubleWe, It Has My Face is a first-person roguelike that mixes hidden-identity tension with a much bloodier tone. The hook is simple and nasty. You are trapped in a procedurally generated world, searching crowds for your doppelganger before they find and kill you. The game layers in bizarre modifiers, monsters, and an online multiplayer mode that pits eight human players against one another.

Grime 2

Steam page · Released April 1 · Developer: Clover Bite

Grime 2 continues the Souls-like metroidvania formula from the 2021 original, with combat still at the center of everything. Defeated enemies can be turned into molds that become special attacks, projectiles, or other tools in battle. That sits alongside parry-heavy combat, bleak traversal, and boss fights that lean hard into spectacle.

That is a strong little spread for a few days of Steam releases, and at least one of these is likely to stick with you longer than the usual storefront scroll. Tell us which one caught your eye in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.

Angel Kicevski

I've spent half of my life playing video games, ever since the competitive 1.6 era, where I played professionally. Now I am happily married to Margarita Kicevski, and have two beautiful children. My goal is to deliver fresh news and updates, but most of the time I want to work on guides. Previously worked on on another website futuregamereleases.com, and decided to continue my journey here, consolepcgaming.com. <3
