League of Legends Patch 26.7 Preview, Riot Is Testing a Comeback for Farming Supports
Lead gameplay designer Matt 'Phroxzon' Leung‑Harrison previewed Patch 26.7 on March 24, 2026, outlining Support role‑quest tweaks and a set of champion balance changes aimed at reopening AP jungle/AD mid pairings and farming supports.

Riot Games previewed Patch 26.7 on March 24, 2026 via lead gameplay designer Matt ‘Phroxzon’ Leung-Harrison’s tweet, outlining balance changes, a tweak to the Support role quest, and a set of April Fools skins tied to the post-First Stand meta
Phroxzon said he was pleased with the diversity shown at First Stand and that the event validated a wider spread of viable lane classes. He wrote, “The First Stand meta ended up being quite good; there was significant diversity in every role between classes… It really did seem like every lane could carry and balance of objectives vs splitting felt pretty appropriate,” in the same tweet.

Thank you to the team for handling the Patch while I was at First Stand!
Many of the folks who went hadn't been to Brazil before, including me and the players there were just so passionate, we had a lot of listening sessions with the community, Q&A's, and the… pic.twitter.com/nMMdFiUfqk

Following that takeaway, Riot signaled several balance moves intended to nudge underused combinations back into play. The studio said it wanted to make AP jungle plus AD mid pairings easier to build and to open space for farming support play by adjusting the Support role quest. Riot acknowledged the change might permit “some farming support shenanigans,” but argued those plays would also block bot-carry quest progression and that the team wanted to test whether anything would break.
The preview included specific champion adjustments, with buffs for champions such as Cassiopeia, Kalista, and Rell, and nerfs aimed at champions including Graves, Karma, Nami, Ornn, Singed, and Veigar. Riot also flagged follow-up work on Shyvana, noting an unintended interaction with Sylas that would be addressed via a micropatch and that the team was still evaluating Shyvana’s role viability.
Patch Notes
Below are the changes Riot previewed for Patch 26.7. The list covers champion buffs, nerfs, targeted adjustments, and the system-level support-quest tweak that could allow farming supports to return.
Champion Buffs
- Cassiopeia
- Kalista
- Rell
- [E] Full Tilt bonus Move Speed increased 10% (increased to 25% when facing empowered ally or visible enemy) -> 15% (increased to 30% when facing empowered ally or visible enemy)
- [R] Magnet Storm damage per tick increased 15/25/35 (13.75% AP) 18.75/31.25/43.75 (+13.75% AP)
Champion Nerfs
- Graves
- Karma
- Nami
- [W] Ebb and Flow bounce effectiveness ratio adjusted -10% (+10% per 100 AP) -> -20% (+15% per 100 AP)
- Ornn
- [P-Temper] Living Forge – Temper Brittle target’s max HP damage reduced 10-18.94% -> 9-16.82% (based on Ornn’s level 1-20, linear)
- Singed
- Veigar
- [R] Primordial Burst cooldown increased 100/80/60 120/90/60 seconds
Champion Adjustments
- Shyvana
- Shyvana has a bit of an unintended interaction with Sylas that will be micropatched tomorrow; essentially, he benefits double from her auto attacks passive (with Sylas’s passive) that makes his attacks do ridiculous damage
- Riot is still taking time to evaluate role viability for top Shyvana and whether it’s reasonably supportable without destroying Jungle role satisfaction
- Riot has also been working on some changes to increase the satisfaction of her Passive, reduce MMR skew, increase counterplay and the satisfaction of her E
- [R-P] Dragon’s Descent – Fury Ultimate Haste bonus adjusted 0.015 Fury per second per 1 Ultimate Haste -> 1% bonus Fury generation from all sources per 1 Ultimate Haste
System Adjustments
Riot said it would alter the Support role quest to reduce its negative impact on other roles and to allow more varied bot-lane builds. The developer described pulling those reductions “all the way this patch,” accepting that it could re-enable farming support strategies as a deliberate test of whether the change broke broader quest progression dynamics.
Riot also noted a desire to make room for AP junglers and AD mids to pair more naturally in team compositions, and to keep the bot-lane landscape open to casters, hypercarries, utility picks, and fringe choices. Please share your thoughts in the comments below.
