Dinolords is heading into a closed alpha playtest on Steam, and Northplay says sign-ups are open now. The studio plans to admit players in batches starting at the end of October, so this is the first real chance to try its mix of RTS basebuilding and ARPG-style combat.
According to a Steam post from the developer, the closed alpha will include a small slice of the game but a generous chunk of content for testing. Players will get:
- a three-part tutorial
- four distinct maps
- two game modes
- a “campaign” setup with cross-level progression
The playtest focuses on the Viking faction, while also allowing players to control an array of dinosaurs. Expect the usual RTS elements, such as basebuilding and unit control, along with character-led combat inspired by ARPGs.
There’s a short trailer:
If you want to try the alpha, you can request access via the Dinolords Steam page. Northplay warns that not everyone who asks will be invited and that invites will be “letting in players in batches starting at the end of October.”
