Valve has released an update for Counter-Strike 2 that addresses an exec_async issue affecting cheat-protected servers and discontinues sales of several Armory items. The patch matters because it prevents random user input dropout during matches and removes the Gallery Case plus select stickers from The Armory.
Servers marked as cheat-protected previously allowed scripts queued by exec_async to continue running, which could result in a brief loss of player input. That behavior could show as missed shots, failed actions, or short control pauses during rounds on protected servers. The update halts queued execution in those contexts so player input remains consistent. Players on competitive servers should notice fewer unexplained control dropouts.
The update also marks the last opportunity to buy the Gallery Case, Graphic Collection, and Character Craft stickers from The Armory. Those items will no longer be available after the sale window closes. Players who wanted any of the case or sticker art should act accordingly. The official update announcement lists the changes in full.
