iRacing 2025 Season 3 Patch 4 Fixes Crashes, Tweaks Cars, and Zaps Weird Grass

iRacing’s latest patch for 2025 Season 3, Patch 4, just hit the servers and it’s got some solid fixes and tweaks that matter. From stopping crashes with certain wheels to adjusting car weights and even killing off some rogue bright grass at Rallycross tracks, this update cleans up a few nagging issues that have been bugging sim racers.

Let’s break down what’s new and fixed in this patch.

Simulation Updates

Controls

  • Re-enabled 360Hz and Wheel LFE APIs, so those high-frequency inputs should work again.
  • Fixed a memory instability that caused crashes after about 2 hours for players using Moza devices. If you had your sim session cut short, this should help.
  • Addressed an intermittent crash issue affecting some Fanatec wheels. No more sudden boot-outs mid-race.

Graphics

  • Rallycross tracks were invaded by some seriously bright, annoying grass that stood out like a sore thumb. Groundskeepers have eradicated this invasive species, and they’re keeping an eye out for any new sprouts over the next week.

Telemetry

  • Added two new boolean variables: “PitRepairNeeded” and “PitOptRepairNeeded”. These will be true when your car needs mandatory or optional repairs, which should help with better race strategy and pit timing.

Car Updates

GTP Class

  • Low fuel warning clear is now a momentary press instead of a toggle, and you can adjust the trigger point in the garage screen.
  • The low fuel warning clear button is now active for the BMW M Hybrid V8.

Ferrari 296 Challenge

  • Base weight increased by 20 kg and ride height rules updated to match the latest real-world specs.
  • Brake bias target shifted rearwards to improve turn-in response.
  • iRacing setups updated accordingly.

Ford GT GT2

  • Ride height reference locations and suspension installation adjusted to reduce bump stop contact and improve ride quality.
  • iRacing setups updated.

Mercedes-AMG W12 E Performance & W13 E Performance

  • Nose mounts will now be replaced whenever front wing damage is repaired, adding a bit more realism to repairs.

NASCAR Gen 4 Ford Taurus – 2003

  • Updated textures, templates, and patterns to reflect B-pillar and rear-end adjustments.
  • Damage visual effects have been improved.

Track Fixes

Bristol Motor Speedway & Dover Motor Speedway

  • Fixed an issue where floating crowds would appear when track detail was lowered. No more ghostly fans!

Rudskogen Motorsenter

  • Updated a missing track rule to keep things accurate.

Yikes, who knew bright grass could be such a problem? But hey, at least your wheel won’t randomly crash anymore and your Ferrari feels a bit more legit. Got thoughts on the patch? Drop them in the comments below.
