Unseen Concept Art from Cancelled Batman Game Project Sabbath Surfaces

Some fresh concept art from a cancelled Batman game called Project Sabbath has appeared online, offering a rare look at what might have been a follow-up to the 2015 Batman: Arkham Knight. Originally posted on an Artstation page that has since been removed, the images feature Damian Wayne, Bruce Wayne in a rougher form, Killer Croc, and Huntress.

Project Sabbath was developed at WB Games Montréal but was abandoned years ago. The studio shifted focus to Gotham Knights, a title that unfortunately didn’t quite hit the mark for many players. These concept shots suggest a darker, grittier take on Gotham with an older Bruce Wayne leaning on a cane, possibly named Michael, alongside his son Damian stepping into his legacy.

New concept art from WB Games Montréal's cancelled 2015 Damian Wayne game "Project Sabbath" has surfaced, shared by character artist Rodrigue Pralier. The pieces clearly show Damian, an older Bruce, Killer Croc, and Huntress.Check them out here: artstation.com/artwork/2Bn8yA

What We Know About Project Sabbath

Before the Artstation page was taken down, fans managed to grab the concept art and share it widely across social media. The images show a fairly intimidating Killer Croc and include the Huntress, rounding out a cast that could have added interesting dynamics to the story.

Rumors have hinted that Project Sabbath might have included a Nemesis System similar to the one from the Middle-earth: Shadow series, which would have introduced a fresh gameplay mechanic to the Batman universe. Unfortunately, the project didn’t progress far enough to realize these ideas.

Batman games haven’t had the smoothest run lately, which is a bit of a bummer. Marvel titles like Spider-Man seem to hold strong, but Batman’s recent outings haven’t captured the same magic.
