Twitch Set to Launch Live Rewind Feature Inspired by YouTube and KICK

Twitch is gearing up to add a feature that many have been waiting for: live rewind. This update will let viewers rewind a live stream without leaving the broadcast, a feature already popular on YouTube and KICK. It’s a move that could change how we watch streams, especially for catching those epic moments you might have missed.

Over the years, Twitch has faced competition from other streaming platforms, pushing it to tweak its features and policies. While some changes were subtle, others, like the recent updates to its ban system, were more noticeable. But live rewind has been a long-requested feature that Twitch hasn’t fully delivered on—until now.

According to reporter Zach Bussey, Twitch is testing live rewind and might officially announce it at TwitchCon Rotterdam 2025. This feature will allow viewers to rewind the live stream in real-time, making it easier to catch up on missed segments or grab clips quickly.

Currently, Twitch viewers have to exit the live stream and open the VOD (video on demand) to rewind, which can be frustrating since the VOD takes a few minutes to update with the latest moments. Live rewind will fix this by letting you rewind instantly without interrupting the live experience.

This is especially interesting for esports fans who want to clip highlights as soon as they happen. Imagine catching that clutch play or insane combo seconds after it goes down, without missing a beat in the live action.

While the feature isn’t live yet, it’s expected to roll out soon, and Twitch will likely make a big announcement when it does. Keep an eye out for updates around TwitchCon Rotterdam 2025!
