Fortnite Pulls Back Key Movement Mechanics, Sparking Player Outcry

Fortnite recently removed some of its fresh movement mechanics, introduced just two seasons ago, leaving players frustrated. These parkour-inspired moves, including Wall Kick and Roll Landing, had changed how players moved, especially in Zero Build mode. Epic Games disabled these features in all official shooter modes but kept them in creator-made experiences without explaining why.

Though there must be a reason why Epic decided to do away with a mechanic they had freshly developed and released less than six months ago, they have chosen not to comment on it.

While these mechanics will remain in creator-made modes, they’ve vanished from the core gameplay. The new features had wholly altered the flow of gameplay. Wall Kick allowed for quick repositioning, while Roll Landing made aggressive vertical moves safer by reducing fall damage and restoring stamina. Removing these moves has left many feeling that Fortnite’s movement options were a step backward. “RIP to my parkour career before it even began,” one player lamented.
