The company is shaking things up with a significant leadership change that places Ryozo Tsujimoto, the mastermind behind the beloved Monster Hunter series, in charge of all its development divisions. That’s right, folks! This move could signal exciting times ahead for fans of Capcom’s games.

The announcement came with some personnel shifts. Yoichi Egawa, who has been a key player at Capcom, will be stepping down from his position as Chief Product Officer on April 1. Tsujimoto, currently the deputy overseeing development divisions, will take over this pivotal role. What’s even better? He won’t have to manage the pachinko business. Haruhiro Tsujimoto, the current COO, now holds those responsibilities. It’s like a game of musical chairs but with way more stakes!

Tsujimoto’s journey with Capcom began in 1996, right after graduating. Can you believe it? He started off planning arcade games like Battle Circuit and Tech Romancer. But his work on Monster Hunter set the stage for his career. From producing titles like Monster Hunter Tri to leading the charge on blockbuster hits such as Monster Hunter World, he has been an integral part of every major release in the franchise.

Under his guidance, Monster Hunter World became a phenomenal success, with over 25 million units sold globally, making it Capcom’s best-selling game ever! Following that high note, its successor, Monster Hunter Rise, also made waves by selling over 15 million copies.

The latest entry in the series, Monster Hunter Wilds, is also showing signs of success. It recently peaked at nearly 1.4 million concurrent players on Steam during its launch weekend! Can you imagine that kind of excitement? Tsujimoto knows how to capture player interest and keep them hooked.

This shake-up at Capcom opens up so many possibilities for future titles. With someone like Tsujimoto at the helm of development divisions, we can only hope for more thrilling adventures and epic hunts in the years to come!
