Trainers, get ready, because Mega Rayquaza is coming back to Pokemon GO Raids across the globe. The event will be starting on Saturday, August 3, 2024, and will allow trainers to fetch the super-elusive Mega Rayquaza and add it to their collection.
As per the official information revealed on Niantic’s official website:
Mega Rayquaza Special Raid Event
Mega Rayquaza will be appearing in raids around the world—again! Mega Rayquaza will hatch from Raid Eggs in Raid Hours at the following times.
Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. local time
Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. local time
Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. local time
We apologize for the inconvenience our dedicated Trainers experienced during the initial appearance of Mega Rayquaza in June.
To compensate for the technical issues that occurred during this event, we’re holding a special raid makeup event on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
Thank you for your understanding, and we appreciate your continued passion for Pokémon GO!
Event Bonus
The Remote Raid Pass limit will increase to 20 from Friday, August 2, at 5:00 p.m. to Saturday, August 3, 2024, to 8:00 p.m. PDT.
Free Timed Research
Free Timed Research will be available to Trainers during the event! Complete the research tasks to earn a Meteorite.
Unlike other Mega-Evolving Pokémon, Rayquaza can’t Mega Evolve with Mega Energy alone. Trainers hoping to Mega Evolve their Rayquaza will need to teach it the Charged Attack Dragon Ascent first!
Dragon Ascent can only be learned by using Meteorites.
The time is ticking, trainers. Make sure you prepare for tomorrow’s Raids.
