Remember last year when a ransomware group decided to play dirty and hacked into Insomniac, making off with a whopping 1.6 terabytes of data? Yeah, that massive breach has been keeping data miners busy for months. And guess what? They just struck gold.
Just two days ago, dataminers uncovered some details about Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, including the first look at a new hero, Silk. Now, if you’re wondering who Silk is, here’s a quick rundown.
At the end of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker decides to hang up the suit, and Miles Morales steps up. In the mix, we meet Cindy Moon, a.k.a. Silk, when it’s revealed that their parents are dating. Yep, she got her powers from the same spider that bit Peter. But thankfully, we’re skipping over the whole weird pheromones arc and the suit made out of webs fiasco from the comics. Phew!

Silk is a badass character in the Spider-Man universe. Her modern redesign features a sleek black-and-white suit with a red face mask, which looks pretty sick, if you ask me. However, in the leaked footage, it’s clear that the game is still very much a work in progress. She’s got a mask under her mask, and some elements look unfinished.
So, what does this mean for Spider-Man 3? Well, it’s an exciting peek into what could be an epic game. We might switch between Cindy and Miles, with Peter finally living a normal life. But, knowing Spider-Man’s luck, we’ll have to see how long that lasts.
Now, about that release date, Insomniac hasn’t slapped a date on Spider-Man 3 just yet. But those hacked files revealed a roadmap stretching to 2032. According to the leaks, we’ve got a Venom spin-off lined up for 2025, followed by the Wolverine game in 2026. If these dates hold up, we’re looking at Spider-Man 3 swinging onto our consoles in 2028.
