Marvel’s Wolverine Brings The Hand, a New Suit, and a Full Soundtrack Reveal

Insomniac Games confirmed that the PlayStation 5 adventure will launch on September 15, 2026, with a prequel comic and new crossover suit arriving before and after release.

Insomniac Games shared a fresh look at Marvel’s Wolverine during the San Diego Comic-Con panel on July 23, including a new Story Trailer, details about The Hand and Deathstrike, composer information, crossover suits, and a prequel comic. The full presentation recap is available through the official PlayStation announcement.

The panel featured Creative Director Marcus Smith, Game Director Mike Daly, Sr. Project Director Jess-Reiner-Reed, and Narrative Director Walt Williams. Liam McIntyre and Krizia Bajos also appeared to discuss their roles as Logan/Wolverine and Jean Grey, alongside Eric Monacelli, Executive Producer at Marvel Games.

Marvel’s Wolverine will launch for PlayStation 5 on September 15, 2026.

The Story Trailer brings The Hand into the fight

The new trailer centers on an angry Logan confronting Jean Grey during a tense and vulnerable exchange. It also introduces The Hand as one of the game’s enemy factions and puts Deathstrike among the threats standing in Wolverine’s way.

PlayStation also shared new artwork showing Logan battling The Hand, whose members wear their familiar red uniforms. The two sides have an established history, though the game will reveal how that connection fits into Logan’s larger journey.

A crossover suit is coming to both Marvel games

Insomniac Games and Arc System Works are joining forces for a small but fun crossover. Wolverine’s suit from MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls will be unlockable in Marvel’s Wolverine through normal game progression on day one.

The crossover works in both directions. The Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Reborn suit will appear in MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, where it will be available to every player for free starting September 1, 2026.

David Fleming composed Wolverine’s score

Award-winning composer David Fleming is creating the music for Marvel’s Wolverine. The score will use changing musical cues and larger swells to follow Logan as the story takes him across the globe.

A track from the game is already available through Amazon, Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music. The complete soundtrack will be released on August 28, 2026.

A prequel comic fills in Logan’s past

Players can also read a digital prequel comic covering events before the main story. Walt Williams wrote the issue, Luke Ross provided the art, and Iban Coello created the cover.

The comic focuses on Logan’s difficult relationship with members of Team X during a mission to protect mutantkind. It is being distributed as an exclusive San Diego Comic-Con giveaway and can also be read online through Marvel Unlimited.
