WoW’s September 1 Hotfixes Take the Edge Off The Venomous Abyss
Raid Finder bosses and several smaller-group mechanics received reductions, while fixes addressed Unholy Death Knight, Beast Mastery Hunter, and Assassination Rogue abilities.

World of Warcraft’s September 1 hotfixes take the edge off The Venomous Abyss, with the heaviest reductions aimed at Raid Finder and smaller raid groups. Nek’zali the Soulcoiler loses 15% health on Raid Finder, Vexhul and Ithraz lose 20%, and several raid mechanics now deal less damage or require fewer players to avoid failure damage.
Mythic groups also receive changes to The Twin Fangs and The Coiled Altar. Eternal Venom now reaches 10 applications before its death threshold, Ravenous Feast requires at least 4 targets, and multiple Mythic damage effects have been reduced. Smaller Heroic groups receive several health and damage adjustments as well.
Outside The Venomous Abyss, Delves will offer trinkets less often, while Tidebound Grotto receives reductions to Frost Orb damage and duration. The batch also fixes class problems affecting Unholy Death Knights, Beast Mastery Hunters, and Assassination Rogues, alongside the previously announced class tuning.
The raid opened in stages beginning the week of August 18, with its Raid Finder wings following the broader difficulty launch. Our Venomous Abyss opening schedule covers how those releases were divided across the resets.
