World of Warcraft Patch 12.1 Enters Its Final Testing Phase

Blizzard's new PTR build 68914 is a release candidate, with Patch 12.1 currently expected to arrive on August 11 in North America and August 12 in Europe.

World of Warcraft Patch 12.1 has reached an important stage on the Public Test Realm. Blizzard pushed build 68914 to the PTR, and this version is marked as a Release Candidate.

That label usually means the main development work for the test build is finished. Rather than receiving more large-scale PTR builds, players may see further class adjustments arrive through hotfixes in the days and weeks ahead. Build 68914 also includes additional class tuning for Midnight Season 2.

When will Patch 12.1 release?

Blizzard has not officially announced a release date yet. The current community expectation is August 11 for North America and August 12 for Europe.

That estimate comes from the timing of the release candidate build and Blizzard’s past PTR patterns. Release Candidate versions have often appeared roughly two weeks before a major patch goes live, although the schedule can still change before the final launch.

For now, the arrival of build 68914 suggests that Patch 12.1 is moving into its final stretch of testing. Players should watch for hotfixes and any official release-date announcement from Blizzard as the patch gets closer.
