War Thunder’s Polish Armed Forces Day Event Is Live With Two Discounted Vehicles
A 3,000-mission-point task awards a trophy containing one of three Polish decals, with alternate rewards available for players who already own all three.
War Thunder is now running its Polish Armed Forces Day event, which brings discounts for two Polish-themed vehicles and a trophy containing commemorative decals. The event runs from August 14 at 11:00 GMT through August 17 at 11:00 GMT, as detailed by Gaijin Entertainment in its Steam announcement.
Polish Armed Forces Day takes place on August 15 in remembrance of Poland’s victory in the Battle of Warsaw in 1920. The celebration in War Thunder focuses on vehicles connected to Polish service members and Allied operations during the Second World War.
Two vehicles are available at 30% off
The Lanovski’s P-47M-1-RE is available for 4,263 Golden Eagles, down 30% for the duration of the event. Players can find the aircraft under USA → Aviation → Premium vehicles, and it can only be purchased during the promotion.
The aircraft is tied to Witold Łanowski, a Polish Second World War ace who flew Spitfires and Mustangs with the Royal Air Force before flying the P-47D and P-47M-1-RE with the US Air Force. The P-47M-1-RE carries eight forward-firing 12.7mm machine guns, along with HVAR rockets and bombs weighing up to 1,000 lb, giving it a strong ground-attack loadout.
On the ground, the Sherman IC “Trzyniec” is discounted to 2,086 Golden Eagles. It is located under Great Britain → Army → Premium vehicles. Once the event ends, the tank will return to its full price of 2,980 Golden Eagles.
The Sherman IC uses the 17-pounder gun associated with the British Firefly. Polish troops used these tanks alongside Allied forces in Italy from 1944 to 1945, and one vehicle received the name “Trzyniec” after the Czech city near the Polish border. Its gun has strong penetration, but the tank will benefit from careful positioning and early shots.
How to earn the Polish Armed Forces Day trophy
To receive the Polish Armed Forces Day trophy, players must earn 3,000 mission points in battles using US or British vehicles at Rank III or higher. The trophy contains one of three decals:
- “Emblem of the 1st Krechowce Uhlan Regiment”
- “Emblem of the Polish Land Forces”
- “Polish Armed Forces Day”
The “Polish Armed Forces Day” decal is placed in the Holidays section of the vehicle customization menu. The other two are found under Neutral Countries → Tanks.
Players who already own all three decals will receive a trophy containing one of four alternate rewards:
- A 20-50% Research Point booster lasting 3-10 battles
- A 20-50% Silver Lion booster lasting 3-10 battles
- 3-5 universal backups
- One day of Premium account time
The task can be completed in random battles, except for [Assault] mode. Progress is available in the hangar through Nickname → Achievements → Holidays → Polish Armed Forces Day. Once the task is complete, the reward must be collected manually.
