War Thunder’s Black Thursday Event Puts MiG-15s Against B-29 Bombers
The limited-time event runs through July 27 and gives players a 30% bonus to Silver Lions and Research Points.

War Thunder is running a limited-time “Black Thursday” event based on the Korean War air battle, with a 30% bonus to earned Silver Lions and Research Points. Gaijin Entertainment announced the event in a Steam announcement.
The event runs from July 23 at 11:00 GMT through July 27 at 11:00 GMT. Players can access it through the Events & Tournaments tab in the hangar. Battles are available in Realistic and Simulator modes, and each player has three respawns.
“Black Thursday” refers to April 12, 1951, when American B-29 bombers and their fighter escorts flew toward northwestern North Korea and encountered Soviet MiG-15s. The clash became a major early example of jet combat during the Korean War. In this War Thunder scenario, the American team must protect AI-controlled B-29 bombers as they approach an airfield, while the Soviet team tries to shoot them down.
