War Thunder Update 2.59.0.62 Adds Bombing Bases to 7 Air Superiority Missions
Cockpit airflow now overpowers engine and missile audio, while Indonesian ground crews receive their own voice-over.

War Thunder Update 2.59.0.62 adds bombing bases to seven Air Superiority missions and gives Indonesian ground crews their own voice-over. It also changes cockpit audio so rushing air drowns out engine and missile sounds when players open an aircraft or helicopter cockpit in flight, as detailed in Gaijin’s Steam update notes.
Cockpit airflow is no longer governed by the engine volume slider. The patch also replaces the Harimau’s engine sound, fixes the spray effect beneath ship guns, and addresses one possible cause of client freezes after Alt+Tab.
War Thunder Update 2.59.0.62 Patch Notes
Sound
- Now, when opening the aircraft or helicopter cockpit in flight, the sound of the rushing airflow will drown out all sounds, such as engines and missiles. Previously, this was controlled by the player’s engine volume slider.
- The Indonesian ground vehicle crews have received their own voice over.
- Harimau — the engine sound has been replaced with a better fitting one.
Locations and Missions
- [Air Superiority] Britain, Kursk, Malta, Mozdok, Stalingrad (Winter), Vietnam, Smolensk — bombing bases have been added to the “Air Superiority” missions.
Graphics
- An issue where the foam and spray effect beneath firing ship guns was displayed incorrectly has been fixed.
Other
- A possible cause of an issue where the game client could freeze after switching from another window (Alt+Tab) has been fixed. (Report).
