War Thunder Update 2.59.0.38 Fixes Missile Damage and Tunes Vehicle Handling

J35J gains maneuver and limits mode switching, while T58 ammunition effects and high-BR Nuclear Escalation columns receive targeted changes.

War Thunder Update 2.59.0.38 fixes a missile bug that could prevent direct hits and explosions from dealing damage, while also changing aircraft behavior, tank handling, interface input, and high-tier Nuclear Escalation battles. Gaijin Entertainment published the full official Steam patch notes. Gaijin’s September 29 maintenance window preceded the release of these patch notes.

Aircraft changes include a new maneuver and limits mode switch for the J35J, an updated flight model, and corrected fuel consumption from its drop tanks. The F4U-7 (France) also moves its New 20 mm cannons modification from tier III to tier II, while the F-16XL receives a fix for its AGM-65B seeker camera.

Ground vehicle adjustments focus on handling and ammunition behavior. Moments of inertia have been corrected for several vehicles, including the M24, IS-2, T-44, Panzer IV/70(V), and T58. The T58 also receives fixes for ammunition storage classification and damage effects.

Controller users receive two interface fixes, and high-tier Nuclear Escalation battles now use different vehicles in their AI tank columns and strongpoints. The patch follows Update 2.59.0.22, which addressed aircraft issues, overpressure behavior, and interface problems earlier in the current update series.
