War Thunder developer Gaijin Entertainment released Update 2.47.0.140, a maintenance patch fixing an aircraft damage bug and restoring custom matchmaking. The update addresses an issue where forward fuselage hits from large air-to-air missiles failed to damage planes properly, and it returns Custom Battles and Air Simulator Battles to working order.
The fix patches how forward fuselage impacts behaved against missiles with warheads similar to the AIM-9; those hits previously left aircraft mostly unharmed when heavy damage was expected. Custom rooms can be created again. Gaijin also adjusted the matchmaking flow so both Custom Battles and Air Simulator Battles work reliably. Full notes are on the official Steam announcement.
Players flagged the problems via the official bug reporting service and community channels, and the development team prioritized fixes based on severity. Minor follow-up tweaks may arrive without a client update. Testing in live matches will confirm whether edge cases remain.
