War Thunder redoes Ardennes and brings back White Rock Fortress

The next major update for War Thunder will return White Rock Fortress to the Ground Battles rotation and deliver a full visual overhaul of the Ardennes map.

White Rock Fortress is one of the oldest Ground Battle maps and it will come back in the next major update. The map has been recreated from scratch and the team applied gameplay changes meant to improve match flow while keeping familiar navigation for those who played it years ago. The fortress itself was rebuilt using light stone to match the map name. The announcement invites players to meet at the white walls in the first rays of sun.

The Ardennes location has been completely redesigned with modern graphics and higher fidelity detail. It keeps a spacious, autumnal look with trees in gold, abandoned fire positions, collapsed houses, puddles and mud. General navigation is unchanged. All approaches, bypasses, and terrain remain the same so players will recognize common routes. New interactive elements appear on Ardennes. Abandoned pieces of equipment plus bulldozers and tractors have been added. Those vehicles can be pushed forward and used as temporary, mobile shelters during engagements.

Both maps are aimed at Ground Battles and will arrive together in the next major update. Think the new mobile shelters will change how teams approach Ardennes? Tell us in the comments and follow for updates on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
