Gaijin Entertainment posted Server Update 30.12.2025 to the War Thunder Steam announcements on December 30, 2025. The short bulletin targets aircraft handling for the Su-27/30 family, adds new damage behavior for the BMPT line, and restores missions on the Arctic map after a spawn issue.
These changes follow last week’s December fixes; see our coverage of the December 24 update for additional context here.
The update is brief but focused. Pilots flying variants of the Su-27 family will notice increased lift and adjusted high-angle-of-attack turn behavior meant to better match the Su-27SK manual. Ground-combat crews in BMPT vehicles should be aware that external 30 mm ammo catches can now destroy cannon breeches, the autoloader, and the vertical drive. All Arctic missions that were temporarily disabled have been returned to rotation after a fix for aircraft spawning underground.
The developer notes emphasize these are key changes and not a full exhaustive list of all tweaks.
Server Update 30.12.2025
Aircraft
- Su-27/30 family of aircraft (J-11, Su-33, Su-34 included) – the lift on high angles of attack has been increased, balance on high AoA has been adjusted, the maximum AoA turn characteristics have been adjusted to closer match those in the Su-27SK manual.
Ground Vehicles
- BMPT, BMPT-72 – when external 30 mm cannon ammo catches fire, the cannon breeches, autoloader and vertical drive will be destroyed. The belt between the cannon breeches and main ammo stowage in the crew compartment is what’s considered to be external ammo.
Locations and Missions
- Arctic (all missions) – a bug that caused the aircraft to spawn underground has been fixed. All temporarily disabled missions on this location have been added back into rotation.
