War Thunder gives the German Wellington a brief birthday price cut

The Wellington Mk Ic (Germany) costs 700 Golden Eagles through June 18 at 11:00 GMT and is listed under Germany > Aviation > Premium vehicles.

War Thunder is marking a milestone for the Wellington with a limited-time discount on the German Wellington Mk Ic. The aircraft is on sale for 700 Golden Eagles, which is 30% off its usual price, in honor of the bomber’s first flight on June 15, 1936.

The promotion runs from June 15 at 11:00 GMT until June 18 at 11:00 GMT. During that window, the Wellington Mk Ic (Germany) is available in Germany > Aviation > Premium vehicles, and it is only available while the offer lasts.

The Wellington has a long history outside the game as well. Vickers designed the bomber, and it served as Britain’s primary night bomber in the early part of the Second World War, taking part in operations over Germany, North Africa, and the Mediterranean. German forces also captured Wellingtons as war trophies after crash landings and splashdowns in Germany and occupied territories.

In War Thunder, the aircraft leans more toward staying power than raw speed. It carries only machine guns for defense, but they cover a wide field of fire, and its bomb bay can hold either eighteen 250 lb bombs or nine 500 lb bombs.
