Virtus.pro Advanced After a 2-0 Win Over JiJieHao in Paris

Virtus.pro took Ancient and Dust2 by identical 13-11 scores to move through the Esports World Cup 2026 Open Qualifier.

Virtus.pro defeated JiJieHao 2-0 in the Group 16 winners’ match of the Esports World Cup 2026 Open Qualifier. The series ended with identical 13-11 scores on Ancient and Dust2, sending Virtus.pro into the next stage while JiJieHao moved into the Decider Match. The match listing places the $100,000 LAN in Paris.

There was no need for a third map after two close finishes. JiJieHao picked Ancient, where Virtus.pro recovered from a competitive opening half and closed out a 13-11 win. Virtus.pro then selected Dust2 and held on by the same scoreline.

The veto left Mirage untouched as the potential decider. JiJieHao banned Nuke and Cache, while Virtus.pro removed Inferno and Anubis. With the series ending 2-0, Mirage never entered the server.

Virtus.pro was projected to gain in the VRS

A projected Valve Ranking System calculation placed Virtus.pro at No. 33, up from No. 35, with a predicted gain of 17 points and 1,431 total points. JiJieHao was projected to move from No. 59 to No. 61 after losing seven points, leaving the team with 1,188.

Those figures were predictions rather than an official ranking change. The VRS updates once per month, and the August 8 ranking page serves as the reference for the projection. Virtus.pro’s next match will determine how far the run continues, while JiJieHao must survive the Decider Match to remain in contention.

Virtus.pro now moves forward, while JiJieHao still has a route through the decider. Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, and Telegram.

Counter-Strike 2

Counter-Strike 2 is a free-to-play multiplayer tactical first-person shooter developed and published by Valve. Released in September 2023, it is the fifth main entry in the Counter-Strike series and serves as a direct replacement for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on Steam. Two teams, Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists, compete in objective-based rounds across modes such as bomb defusal and hostage rescue. Built on the Source 2 engine, the game introduced volumetric smoke physics, revised weapon handling, and a new sub-tick server architecture. It inherited all cosmetic items from its predecessor and features both a map-specific Competitive mode and a numerically ranked Premier mode.
