Unrailed 2 Experimental Build Puts Crash Fixes and Vulkan First
Version v-940-f31da53 also brings back the experimental China Networking option for players testing connection improvements.

Unrailed 2: Back on Track received another experimental build on July 29, 2026. Version v-940-f31da53 focuses on crashes tied to compatibility graphics mode, graphics drivers, and video memory, while also changing the default renderer for modern AMD GPUs.
Players in China who are still dealing with connection problems can test China Networking (Experimental) through the game’s Online Settings. Indoor Astronaut said the option will return to the main branch with the next patch, and asked players to share whether it improves their connection.
The update follows several recent experimental builds aimed at stability and connectivity, including the earlier crash fixes and bot improvements. The developer’s Steam announcement also details a move to .NET 10, improved crash reporting, and automatic Vulkan support for modern AMD hardware.
Patch Notes for Unrailed 2: Back on Track v-940-f31da53

- Crash fix: Graphics driver crashes and out-of-video-memory no longer crash the game. You can keep playing or save & quit.
- Improvement: Modern AMD GPUs now use the faster, more stable Vulkan renderer automatically.
- Improvement: Improved crash reporting
- Improvement: We’re building now with .NET 10 (instead of 8) which gives a small performance boost and fixes some potential issues
