Two unofficial PC mods now bring co-op play to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Dragon’s Dogma 2. Both projects are still early builds, but they give friends a way to share combat and world interactions in games that do not officially offer this kind of multiplayer experience.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 keeps campaigns separate
The Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 mod includes shared aggro, cooperative combat, a custom working Dice minigame, custom faces, and other multiplayer features. It does not turn the game into one shared open world, though. Each player continues using their own save, story, quests, choices, and progression.
Players can still travel together and work through the same quest, provided everyone accepts it at the same time. The setup lets friends appear in one another’s games without allowing one player’s campaign decisions to alter another player’s progress.
Combat is also connected between players rather than being purely visual. Enemies respond when either player enters a fight, and health bars appear on other players’ nameplates. NPC damage crosses between the players’ machines, too, so attacks have real consequences for everyone involved. If someone dies, that player reloads their own most recent save, just as they would in single-player.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 supports up to four players
The co-op mod for Dragon’s Dogma 2 takes a different approach by supporting up to four players. Each person controls their own Arisen, while enemies, NPC behavior, combat, and interactions with the environment stay synchronized across the group.
Both mods are unofficial and still under development. The Kingdom Come project is in beta, while the Dragon’s Dogma 2 project is in alpha, so players should expect bugs and unfinished behavior. The Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 version 0.11.5 release is available on GitHub, and the Dragon’s Dogma 2 mod repository provides access to the second project.
