Throne and Liberty’s Western Live Operations Will Move to FirstSpark Games / NC in Q4 2026

Amazon is working with FirstSpark Games / NC to limit disruption as the Western service changes hands.

Throne and Liberty‘s Western live operations will move from Amazon Game Studios to FirstSpark Games / NC beginning in Q4 2026. The transition will return day-to-day responsibility for the service to the teams behind the game.

Amazon Game Studios announced the change in an August 12, 2026 Steam announcement. Amazon said it is coordinating with FirstSpark Games / NC to support the handover and keep disruption to players in the West as low as possible.

Amazon is passing Western operations back to the developers

Amazon has worked with FirstSpark Games for nearly two years to bring the world of Solisium to Western players. During that period, the teams reached several milestones while using player feedback to guide the game’s development.

FirstSpark described the upcoming change as a positive outcome for the community. In its official transition notice, the studio said it believed this was “the right time to take a more direct role in supporting the game and helping shape its future.” FirstSpark’s work in Solisium will continue as the handover proceeds.

Players will continue to find Throne and Liberty on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S after the handover. Existing accounts, characters, progress, cosmetics, and Lucent will remain in place, so players will not need to start over. Players will need to accept a new terms-of-service agreement, while the current gameplay environment will remain unchanged.

The game is also available through NC’s PURPLE client.

NC will also take over customer support and related player resources once the transition is complete. The change will give the development and publishing teams more direct control over the Western service while keeping access familiar for players.

Amazon’s wider MMO operations are winding down

Lost Ark will remain under Amazon’s Western operations until early 2027, when Smilegate is expected to take over. Players can review the official Lost Ark FAQ for details about the transfer and which parts of the service will remain.

New World is scheduled to go offline permanently on January 31, 2027, after development ended and the game stopped receiving new updates. Once the Lost Ark handover is complete and New World shuts down, Amazon will no longer operate an active MMO.

Amazon has not announced a specific handover date beyond the Q4 2026 window. Players seeking more information about the transition can find it on the official Throne and Liberty site.
