New World Temporarily Terminates Server Transfer Due to Gold Dupe Exploit

Character World Transfer no longer viable

Well, as we mentioned earlier, New World had suffered from a Gold Dupe exploit caused by the recently implemented server transfer feature by Amazon Games. The exploit would cause character persistence on the existing server, allowing players to send gold to others without subtracting from their total value. For that reason, Amazon Games has decided to suspend the world transfer feature until further evaluation.

According to Amazon Games, the team is now investigating the cause. Those who have taken advantage and used this exploit to gain in-game benefits such as gold would most probably be punished. The company will retrieve the world transfer feature to New World once it’s thoroughly tested and without any flaws. On the official forums, the developer has stated the following:

Update:

We’ve transferred approximately 150K players since character transfers went live. A small number of those have resulted in characters with an invalid data state that needs to be corrected. We’ve done that for those affected last night, but there are still some new transfers affected that we see happening. We have paused character transfers and evaluate how we can prevent future occurrences of this problem. When that is resolved we’ll resume the service, with an announcement ahead of time.

Therefore, some players are stuck again as they cannot transfer their characters to other servers to join forces with their friends. This might also result in server maintenance that would take a while. On the bright side, it would ease the server queue as popular servers are getting overpopulated again.
