The Witcher 3 Is Coming to Battle.net, and Diablo 4 Will Get a Geralt Skin

Blizzard Entertainment and CD Projekt Red have announced a crossover that will bring The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered to Battle.net and add a Geralt of Rivia-inspired skin to Diablo IV.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered is scheduled to launch on Battle.net on September 29, 2026, the same day it releases on other platforms. The remaster was announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 and will arrive as a free update for people who already own the game.

CD Projekt Red’s upcoming expansion, Songs of the Past, will also launch on Battle.net in 2027, more than 12 years after the original The Witcher 3 arrived. Players who pre-purchase the expansion through Battle.net will receive the Geralt-inspired Diablo IV skin. The offer will not be limited to early buyers: anyone who purchases the expansion when it fully launches will receive the cosmetic as well. The announcements do not specify when Battle.net pre-purchases will begin.

For now, the skin is the only confirmed in-game reward. Blizzard has not revealed which Diablo IV class can use it, and there is no confirmation of additional cosmetics, weapons, mounts, quests, bosses, or a dedicated crossover event.

A partnership with roots in Poland

The studios shared the news through separate announcements, with CD Projekt Red’s blog post providing more background and Blizzard’s announcement focusing on the content players can expect first.

CD Projekt’s connection to Blizzard began in 1998, when it served as Blizzard Entertainment’s official distributor in Poland and helped bring StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II to the Polish market. The relationship once centered on distributing Blizzard games in Poland; now, it includes bringing a CD Projekt Red game to Blizzard’s client.

Radek Grabowski, CD Projekt Red’s Global PR Director, said Diablo introduced him to role-playing games in 1996 and that many of the studio’s employees had similar experiences with Blizzard’s franchises. Amelia Korzycka, the studio’s community and social media manager, recalled seeing people wearing StarCraft T-shirts in 1998 and described The Witcher 3 as her first project after joining CD Projekt Red.

The Battle.net release and the Diablo IV cosmetic are only the first announced parts of the broader collaboration. Neither studio has shared the full scope of its future plans, so Geralt’s skin and The Witcher 3 availability remain the only announced player-facing rewards and releases at this point.

More partnership details are planned for BlizzCon

Blizzard says additional information will be shared during BlizzCon, which is scheduled for September 12-13, 2026. That event should provide a closer look at where the partnership goes next, along with more information about the Battle.net versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered and Songs of the Past.
