The MongolZ will face BLAST and EWC without maaRaa
The 36-year-old coach will support the team remotely after also missing its Pro League and BLAST Open Rotterdam quarterfinal runs earlier this year.
The MongolZ will be without coach Erdenedalai “maaRaa” Bayanbat for both the BLAST Bounty Finals and the Esports World Cup. The organization announced that he will not be behind the team for either event.
maaRaa will remain in contact with the squad from afar and continue providing support remotely. His absence comes as The MongolZ prepare for the Bounty playoffs after a strong debut showing that included contributions from Zolbayar “tikuak” Chimedtseren and Dugarsuren “DarkMeister” Ireedui.
This is not the first time the coach has missed a major stage with The MongolZ this year. He was also absent for the team’s Pro League playoffs and BLAST Open Rotterdam appearances, with the squad exiting in the quarterfinals on both occasions.
The MongolZ face a difficult defense
The MongolZ will also attempt to defend their Esports World Cup title from 2025 without the coach who helped guide that run. Repeating that success was already a difficult task, and losing maaRaa removes an important voice from the team’s match-day setup.
His peers voted him the second-best coach of 2025, adding further context to what The MongolZ will be missing during the upcoming competitions. The team will now have to manage both events with maaRaa supporting from outside the arena.
