The First Descendant Penalized 239 Users in Its Latest Weekly Sweep

The enforcement included six permanent game bans tied to unauthorized programs and Open Store payment abuse, along with 233 separate matchmaking penalties.

The First Descendant recorded 239 enforcement actions during its latest weekly abuse review, which covered August 14 through August 20, 2026, PDT. Two users received permanent game bans for creating, distributing, or using unauthorized programs, while four more were permanently banned for exploiting processes connected to Open Store payments. Another 233 users received separate matchmaking penalties after unusual or uncooperative gameplay activity was detected.

Nexon published the results in a Steam notice. The developer said its enforcement decisions were based on player reports and monitoring, and reminded Descendants to report abnormal behavior through the in-game reporting feature.

The latest total was 47 lower than the 286 penalties recorded during the August 7–13 review. Our previous abuse review covered that earlier enforcement period, which included 11 permanent bans, two trading restrictions, and 273 matchmaking penalties.

How The First Descendant’s 239 penalties were divided

  • Unauthorized programs: Two users received permanent game bans for creating, distributing, or using unauthorized programs.
  • Open Store exploitation: Four users received permanent game bans after gaining unfair benefits through the store payment process.
  • Unusual gameplay activity: 233 users received separate matchmaking penalties after records of uncooperative gameplay were reviewed under the game’s operational policy.

Nexon also outlined how players can dispute certain payment-related actions. Users who want to challenge a penalty involving exploitation of the Open Store payment process were directed to Customer Service > 1:1 Support on the official website. Chargeback-related disputes should be sent to the platform store used to make the payment.
