The Elder Scrolls VI’s Sentinel Subtitle Is Official
Bethesda's 40th-anniversary video revealed Sentinel as the subtitle and confirmed Hammerfell as the setting, alongside a prophecy dated 4E 206.

The Elder Scrolls VI has an official subtitle, Sentinel, and Bethesda has confirmed the game’s location too. The studio revealed the name at the end of a short teaser in its 40th-anniversary video, alongside a prophecy from Yazar, a Moth Priest serving High Queen Iradne of Hammerfell.
The passage is dated 4E 206, five years after the events of Skyrim: “The scroll offered only a shimmer, a veil thinly lifted to my eyes. A future lost. A victory undone. Sands of time scattered by fate.”
In its Nov. 3 post, Bethesda Game Studios said it had revealed both the game’s name and location. Sentinel is a city and kingdom in Hammerfell, home of the Redguards, placing the story in the province.
Thank you for 40 years of shared memories. We can’t wait to make even more together with The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. Development continues, and while it’ll be some time before we’re ready to share more, it feels great to finally reveal the name and location with you.

The announcement arrived ahead of Skyrim‘s 15th anniversary on Nov. 11. An Oct. 29 report on Sentinel’s possible subtitle and Hammerfell setting had said the location might not be disclosed alongside the name.
Before the reveal, fans had connected Sentinel to an eight-asterisk exchange and a number in Starfield. Neither clue confirmed the subtitle at the time. Bethesda first showed The Elder Scrolls VI in a brief teaser at E3 2018.
Bethesda says development continues, though it will be some time before the studio shares more. It has not announced a release date or window.
