Team Spirit makes CS2 roster changes after StarLadder Budapest Major

Team Spirit announced roster changes on its account on X following the conclusion of the StarLadder Budapest Major and an internal review of the 2025 season. The organization confirmed that Leonid ‘chopper’ Vishnyakov and Ivan ‘zweih’ Gogin have been removed from the starting lineup with immediate effect. Myroslav ‘zont1x’ Plakhotia will return to his original role on the roster after taking time away from competition for rest and personal reasons.

Team Spirit also named Boris ‘magixx’ Vorobyev as the new in-game leader. The club said it has confidence in magixx as he moves back into a leadership position after a spell off the main roster earlier this year. The moves come after a mixed but still competitive year for the squad. Team Spirit finished third to fourth at the StarLadder Budapest Major, exiting the semifinals 0 – 2 and taking home $80,000. The team also notched top results earlier in the year, including wins at Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2025, PGL Astana 2025, and both BLAST Bounty Spring and Fall events.

That record was balanced by a string of weaker finishes at other S-Tier events, including the Esports World Cup 2025 and multiple ESL Pro League seasons. Management framed the latest changes as part of an effort to tighten the roster ahead of the 2026 stretch. The return of zont1x follows summer roster movement when Spirit added Andrey “tN1R” Tatarinovich; we covered tN1R joining Spirit in September. With magixx installed as IGL and zont1x back in place, the organization will hope the refreshed lineup brings steadier results in the next season.
