STAR WARS: The Old Republic has opened the first phase of its Game Update 8.0 content on the Public Test Server. Subscribers can now try the test build and provide feedback before the update reaches the live game, as detailed in the official Steam announcement.

The opening test focuses on the first boss from the upcoming Children of Nul Operation. The encounter is available in Story and Veteran modes only for this phase.

What the 8.0 PTS Includes

The first boss of the Children of Nul Operation, available in Story and Veteran modes.
Level 85 class balance testing for Sentinel/Marauder, Sage/Sorcerer, and Vanguard/Powertech.
New abilities and passives for those classes at level 83.

Because the test content is built around level 85 characters, participants will need to create level 1 characters on the PTS. The provided XP boost and gear vendors are intended to help testers reach the required level and prepare for the Nul Acolyte encounter.

The official instructions ask players to read the PTS information before downloading the test content. Feedback can be submitted through the PTS sub-forums, where players will also find specific questions about the new content.

Players using the Public Test Server for the first time can follow the PTS setup instructions for the SWTOR Launcher or Steam.
