Star Wars Zero Company Set a New Steam Launch Record With 69,046 Players

Its peak concurrent player count passed Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's previous PC high of 67,855.

Star Wars Zero Company made its Steam debut with the biggest launch for a Star Wars game on the storefront, reaching 69,046 concurrent players on August 27, 2026. That peak put Bit Reactor’s turn-based tactical game ahead of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which previously held the franchise’s PC record at 67,855 players.

It is a curious result for a squad-based strategy game. A title built around positioning, cover, and turn-based firefights has now passed one of the series’ biggest action-adventure releases on PC. Bit Reactor first announced the project in early 2022, giving the studio several years to build its take on a galaxy far, far away.

Zero Company Passed Jedi Survivor on Steam

SteamDB’s player chart puts Zero Company’s launch-day peak 1,191 players above Jedi: Survivor’s previous mark. The number measures concurrent users rather than total sales, but it still gives the new tactical game a clear Steam launch record within the franchise.

Interest had already been building before release. After the review embargo lifted, Zero Company climbed to the top spot on Steam’s best-selling chart and held that position for several days. The strong opening then carried into its first day of public availability.

The launch also arrived with a $49.99 price, which sits below the $70 mark common for many new AAA releases. On PC, players did not need a secondary launcher to start the game. The game’s PC launch FAQ confirms that the Steam version does not require the EA App.

Those launch choices may have reduced friction for some players, but the concurrent-user figure alone cannot explain what brought each person into the game. It does show that a Star Wars tactics title found a large audience immediately, even against a better-known action-focused entry.

Bit Reactor has not announced any post-launch expansions or downloadable content. For now, the studio can enjoy a record opening while Zero Company begins the longer task of keeping its commanders engaged beyond launch week.
