Space Marine 2’s May update points straight at Year 3
Focus Entertainment said Year 3 will bring five major updates, a new class planned for the first half of 2027, and Twitch Drops running until June 11.
Focus Entertainment used its May Community Update for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 on May 29 to split attention between Patch 13 – Purgation Update, a first look at Year 3, and a Twitch Drops campaign that is running through June 11.
Patch 13 arrived a week earlier, and the studio said May is tied to Warhammer Skulls. The update added the Iron Hands Chapter Pack, which includes a Techmarine Champion and a skin for the Omnissian Axe, plus Chapter Customisation Pack armor pieces such as L&R Greaves, L&R Gauntlets, and L&R Pauldrons & Decals.
Four Successor Chapters joined the mix too: Brazen Claws, Iron Lords, Sons of Medusa, and Red Talons. On the gameplay side, the new Purgation Operation sends squads to investigate Chaos activity near a Cadian base, fight through swamp water that applies a Chaos corruption effect, and watch for geysers that can burst up and deal damage.
Siege Mode also picked up weekly Accolades, new shop items, Blessings and Atonements, boss fights against the Hive Tyrant and Mutalith Vortex Beast, and a timer change that no longer ends the run with an instant Game Over when time runs out.
Focus Entertainment also pointed players to the official 13.0 Patch Notes. A 13.1 hotfix went out earlier this week to improve the connectivity problems that followed Patch 13 and to lower the requirements for unlocking Wargear Sharing.
Year 3 looks busy. The game will get five major updates, from Patches 15 through 19, with free additions that include new weapons and missions. The studio also said a Season Pass will carry Chapter cosmetics and Champion skins, while bug fixes and quality-of-life work will remain a big focus.
The first Year 3 spoiler was a new Class planned for the first half of 2027. Focus Entertainment would not name it yet, but it said the class is one the community has asked for often, and it will get its own special Champion Skin after launch. The Year 3 roadmap will arrive alongside the Second Anniversary Update.
Twitch Drops tied to the Purgation Update run until June 11. Players can earn the Mark X Skull Breastplate after 30 minutes, 100 Accolades after one hour, and the Victrix Honour Guard Gauntlet after two hours by watching Space Marine 2 streams on Twitch.
The update also included a code for 150 Requisition points: GEGV-5QJJ-5P68. It has to be redeemed through PROS, and the studio linked to its PROS redemption guide for the steps.
