Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Players Cite Deluxe Wording in Year 2 DLC Dispute
SEGA's 2025 pre-order post promised "all future paid downloadable content," while its five-slot graphic offers context for the dispute over a separately priced $29.99 Year Two pass.
Some Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds players argue that Year Two’s $29.99/£24.99 Season Pass should come with the Digital Deluxe Edition, pointing to pre-order messaging that included “all future paid downloadable content.” The separate price has reopened questions about what SEGA’s 2025 wording covered.
On June 8, 2025, SEGA’s official account said Digital Deluxe included the base game, a Season Pass, all future paid downloadable content, and bonus Sonic Prime characters. The offer also advertised 72-hour early unlock and the Werehog Pack.

The promotion’s graphic showed five premium DLC slots, with Minecraft artwork in one and question marks in the other four. That can be read as an initial Season Pass roadmap, but the post’s written wording did not explicitly limit “all future paid downloadable content” to those slots.
Digital Deluxe currently costs $59.99/£49.99 and includes Season Pass One, while the base game costs $39.99/£34.99. Season Pass Two is a separate purchase at $29.99/£24.99, putting the wording and the new pass at the center of the disagreement.
SEGA has announced six paid crossover packs for Year Two, available individually or through the new pass. The announced Year Two pack lineup begins with Godzilla on Nov. 3, followed by Evangelion in January 2027. Virtual Sanrio Puroland is scheduled for Q2 2027, SEGALAND and Midgar for Q3, and Reload Revival Royal for Q4.
Free content is also planned, including Bayonetta on Nov. 3, a McLaren Racing car and Sonic skin in late November, and Aigis from Persona 3 Reload in early 2027. Season Pass Two includes Genesis, Saturn, and Dreamcast controller decals, with vehicles based on those consoles due Nov. 3. Players who own both season passes will also receive Super Shadow and his Super Dark Flare machine.
