A Reddit user recently shared a screenshot showing a Tinder profile that uses a clear photo of Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag as its lead image. The account lists the person as a 28-year-old night shift worker and includes a bio that reads like bait rather than a real introduction.
Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag is a former Call of Duty pro, the founder of 100 Thieves, and a well known content creator. He is also married and a father, so the odds are he is not actually using Tinder himself. The Reddit post suggests the profile is an impersonation or a case of someone using his image to grab attention.
The Reddit thread is the original source of the screenshot and discussion. The post by u/AlyFromCali shows the familiar Nadeshot pose and includes this visible portion of the bio:
The original poster said they noticed the person did not quite look the same in the rest of the pictures. That discrepancy and the fact the Nadeshot image is the first photo displayed on the profile led commenters to call the account suspicious.
Because the image is the profile’s first picture, it forms the immediate impression anyone swiping would get. That raises questions about Tinder’s verification and how easy it is to set a celebrity photo as a profile image. Some readers called the profile a catfishing attempt given the mismatch between the lead photo and the rest of the gallery.
The Reddit thread and its comments capture the reaction. The original post and followup replies show users parsing the photos and the bio to figure out whether it is a deliberate impersonation or just someone using a recognizable image as bait. Anyone who saw a streamer or celebrity used as a profile picture on a dating app is joining a wider conversation about account verification and online impersonation.
