SCUM is entering a hunting season with new updates on the way
Gamepires and Splash Damage said the first Into the Wild update will land next week, with monthly patches planned after that.

Gamepires and Splash Damage have laid out the next phase for SCUM, and it starts with a seasonal push called Into the Wild. The theme centers on hunting, wilderness, and survival, and the studio said the first update will arrive next week.
The announcement also drew a clearer line around how the two studios are splitting the work. Gamepires remains fully focused on SCUM, while Splash Damage is adding support and extra development resources where they can have the biggest impact.
Dominic Butler, Splash Damage’s studio design director, said the team had spent time with the game and saw a world with a strong identity, depth, and tension. Ivan Å varc, Gamepires’ art director and co-founder, said the goal is to keep building on what makes SCUM special while giving players a more visible sense of progress each time a patch lands.
That approach feeds directly into Into the Wild. Over the next few months, SCUM will receive monthly updates built around the same survival theme, with new features, fresh content, gameplay improvements, bug fixes, and balance work all part of the plan.
The studios also said this is only the opening stretch of a longer seasonal model. Beyond the summer, they want to keep using stronger themes and a clearer structure for future development, which should give the game a more defined rhythm as new content rolls out.
