Is Helldivers 2 really coming to Xbox? As the title says, this was first mentioned in the latest Xbox Era podcast, where Shapeshal_Nick mentioned the rumor regarding the potential arrival of Helldivers 2 on Xbox. We know that recently Microsoft and Sony have been passing thing around, and some Xbox titles are coming to PlayStation, including Sea of Thieves.
Apparently, Shapeshal_Nick, who’s known for his history and accuracy of previous rumors, prefaces this by saying that he has to be careful about this one, and that this is in no way a confirmation of Helldivers 2 landing on Xbox platforms. This is just stuff he “hears” about, and this discussion is made possible by Sony Interactive Entertainment’s new CEO, Hiroki Totoki, who is a “little more open to certain things”.
While a bunch of Xbox first-party games have now made its way to PlayStation platforms, could Sony be returning the favor soon? Well, seeing the success of Helldivers 2, it’s quite clear that a cross-platform collaboration might turn out strong. If Sony is indeed bringing it to Xbox, this might surprise the fans, but also increase the developer income.
But if these discussions are true, could we see even more titles shifting from Xbox to PS and vice-versa? Only time will tell.
