Rumor hints a potential CoD: Modern Warfare sequel in 2021

After the travel to the cold war and the 1980s, Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare might get another chance to step on the proving ground by developing a Modern Warfare sequel. It is also the most upcoming and thinkable move, going by the fact that Modern Warfare is by far the most beloved title in the franchise with the highest number of sales.

A Call of Duty leaker has tweeted that the next video game series in the CoD franchise is most likely to be Modern Warfare. Undoubtedly, players love the modern-day setting, and Modern Warfare is probably the most logical step and a fan-favorite for getting a sequel. But, which studio will get the opportunity to work on it?

It’s by no doubt that Infinity Ward has earned its respect, but there is Sledgehammer as well as Treyarch. Knowing that Treyarch had its turn to develop Black Ops Cold War in just two years, we have to guess it will be Infinity Ward or Sledgehammer on the next one. If the next CoD game is destined for 2021, then Infinity Ward might do the same as Treyarch and succeed with the game’s development in just 2 years.

It’s early to talk, and all of the rumors have to be taken with a grain of salt. Very rarely, we have the opportunity to be a part of a transparent parley. Hence, we have to contain and pull back ourselves on this rumor. Until more info arrives, we have to hope for the next Modern Warfare title to become a reality, simply because we, like many others, enjoyed it the most.
