Pokémon GO’s August 24–30 Schedule Will Bring Back the Regis and Two Costumed Pikachu

Pokémon GO is lining up a packed week from August 24–30, 2026. Max Battles, a triple-Regi raid rotation, Mega Gyarados, Mankey’s Candy bonus, and two costumed Pikachu are all on the calendar. The PokémonXP event also brings a much bigger GO Battle League day, a full menu of featured attacks, and a GO Pass that keeps moving after the opening event window closes.

The Water Festival has a few final hours on August 24, while the ongoing Forever Forward season continues to add reasons to check in. Here is everything scheduled for Trainers during the week.

Pokémon GO’s August 24–30 calendar

• August 24: Dynamax Hitmontop appears in Max Battles during the 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local-time Max Monday window. Dynamax Magikarp remains available through August 30, and the Water Festival ends at 8:00 p.m. local time.
• August 25: PokémonXP begins, bringing the Cosmog-themed spacesuit Pikachu.
• August 26: Regirock, Regice, and Registeel enter Five-Star Raids, while Mega Gyarados arrives in Mega Raids. The Regis headline Raid Hour from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time.
• August 27: Mankey takes over Spotlight Hour.
• August 28–30: The worldwide 2026 Pokémon World Championships event runs after the PokémonXP opening window ends. The Worlds phase begins at 10:00 a.m. local time on August 28.
• August 30: A Crowned Pikachu wearing a WCS costume debuts.

Max Battles, raids, and Spotlight Hour

Dynamax Hitmontop arrives for Max Monday

Max Monday takes place on Monday, August 24, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time. Dynamax Hitmontop is the featured Pokémon during that hour, while Dynamax Magikarp continues appearing in Max Battles from August 24 through August 30. Two targets, one hour, and probably not enough room in the storage box.

The Regis take over Raid Hour

Regirock, Regice, and Registeel occupy the Five-Star Raid rotation from August 26 through September 8. Each one can be encountered in its Shiny form for the first time. The trio will also fill Raid Hour on August 26 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time.

Lunala remains in Five-Star Raids through August 25, and Shiny Lunala can be encountered for the first time. Mega Swampert also stays in Mega Raids through August 25. Mega Gyarados takes over the Mega Raid rotation from August 26 through September 8.

Event raid bosses tied to PokémonXP and Worlds begin appearing at 11:00 a.m. local time on the relevant days rather than when the event window opens at 10:00 a.m. Shadow Raids follow their regular pattern during the week. One-star and three-star Shadow Raids appear daily, while five-star Shadow Raids are scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays unless another event changes that setup. Shadow Altered Forme Giratina also appears in five-star Shadow Raids during Forever Forward, with a chance to encounter its Shiny form.

Mankey brings a Candy bonus

Spotlight Hour moves to Thursday, August 27, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time. Mankey will appear more often, and every Pokémon caught during the hour grants 2× Catch Candy. Trainers still building Candy for Mankey or its evolution line should circle this hour in bright marker.

The bonus is not limited to wild Mankey. Saved Scatterbug encounters, Pokémon from a Mystery Box or Coin Bag, raid bosses, and encounters held from Field Research, Special Research, or Timed Research can also provide the extra Catch Candy when caught during the hour.

Shiny Mankey is available during the event. Its usual beige-and-brown coloring changes to green, making it easy to spot once the encounter begins. Shiny Primeape and Annihilape can be obtained by evolving a Shiny Mankey.

Mankey’s evolution requirements

Mankey is a Fighting-type Pokémon and is weak to Fairy-, Flying-, and Psychic-type moves. Cloudy weather boosts its encounters. At Level 50, Mankey reaches 1,317 CP, while its listed moveset is Karate Chop with Brick Break.

The following CP values can help identify the level of a wild Mankey before deciding whether to keep it for evolution, trading, or battle use.

Mega Pokémon that boost Mankey Candy

Activating a Mega-Evolved Pokémon with a Fighting typing can add Candy and XP when you catch Mankey. The available choices are:

• Mega Heracross
• Mega Blaziken
• Mega Medicham
• Mega Lopunny
• Mega Lucario
• Mega Gallade
• Mega Chesnaught
• Mega Falinks

Mega catch bonuses do not stack with one another. High- and Max-Level Mega Pokémon can also raise the chance of receiving Candy XL when you catch a Pokémon that shares their type, giving long-term players another reason to use one during the hour.

Primeape and Annihilape in PvP

Primeape is the better target for Great League teams. With Karate Chop and Rage Fist, it can pressure opponents as the battle continues, and the ideal Great League spread given for a Rage Fist Primeape is 5/12/11. Primeape can take wins from targets such as Talonflame, Mandibuzz, Shadow Feraligatr, Shadow Drapion, and Shadow Quagsire.

Annihilape falls behind Primeape in Great League, although the difference becomes smaller in Ultra League. Primeape benefits from Karate Chop, while Annihilape brings more bulk. In Master League, Annihilape has its best showing and can handle threats including Zacian Hero, Dialga, Palkia, Kyogre, and Rhyperior, though Dawn Wings Necrozma remains a difficult matchup.

PvE and Gym use

Annihilape can contribute to Fighting-type raid teams, but it is not among the strongest choices available. Primeape is more useful as a temporary rejoin option against a raid boss weak to Fighting-type attacks. For Gyms, Primeape is vulnerable to attacks such as Charm and Confusion, while Annihilape’s higher HP and typing give it a better chance to wear down attackers.

A simple plan for August 27

1. Have a Mega Heracross, Mega Blaziken, Mega Medicham, Mega Lopunny, Mega Lucario, Mega Gallade, Mega Chesnaught, or Mega Falinks ready before 6:00 p.m.
2. Catch Mankey throughout the hour to build Candy and check each encounter for the green Shiny form.
3. Use saved research encounters, Scatterbug, Mystery Box or Coin Bag spawns, and raid bosses if you want the Catch Candy bonus to benefit other Pokémon.
4. Keep strong Great League candidates for Primeape, and save enough Candy and Buddy progress if Annihilape is your goal.

PokémonXP starts the Worlds celebration

PokémonXP begins Tuesday, August 25, at 10:00 a.m. local time and runs until Friday, August 28, at 10:00 a.m. local time. The Worlds phase begins immediately afterward and continues through Sunday, August 30, at 8:00 p.m. local time. The tie-in connects Pokémon GO with the PokémonXP real-world event taking place alongside the 2026 Pokémon World Championships. Spacesuit Pikachu, Worlds 2026 Pikachu, and Impidimp raids

A new Pikachu wearing a Cosmog-themed spacesuit makes its Pokémon GO debut during PokémonXP. The second event costume is Worlds 2026 Pikachu, identified on the calendar as the Crowned Pikachu wearing a WCS costume and debuting on August 30.

Cosmog-spacesuit Pikachu appears in Tier 1 raids throughout the event, with Impidimp joining the Tier 1 rotation from Tuesday through Friday. During the Worlds portion, Worlds 2026 Pikachu and Honedge take over the remaining Tier 1 rotation from Friday through Sunday. These event raid bosses do not appear until 11:00 a.m. local time.

Wild Pokémon change during PokémonXP

Different Pokémon are featured on different days, with these encounters appearing more often in the wild during the PokémonXP window:

Trainers may also get lucky and encounter Deino.

GO Battle League gets 15 daily sets

PokémonXP raises the daily GO Battle League limit from five sets to 15 sets, allowing up to 75 battles per day. Pokémon encountered through GO Battle League rewards will also have a wider range of Attack, Defense, and HP values.

Some Pokémon caught or evolved during the event can know featured attacks. The full roster includes several battle-ready treats:

15 evolutions can learn legacy moves

The combined PokémonXP and 2026 Worlds celebration also gives Trainers a limited evolution window from Tuesday, August 25, through Sunday, August 30. Evolving 15 first-stage Pokémon during that period can unlock event legacy moves:

• 27 — Sandshrew
• 56 — Mankey
• 108 — Lickitung
• 158 — Totodile
• 175 — Togepi
• 194 — Wooper
• 280 — Ralts
• 363 — Spheal
• 374 — Beldum
• 633 — Deino
• 656 — Froakie

• 725 — Litten
• 816 — Sobble

There is a handy shortcut for finding eligible Pokémon. Enter evolve& 27,56,108,158,175,194,280,363,374,633,656,722,725,816,821 in the Pokémon search field, and the game will gather the listed species in one place.

Spheal is the standout in this group. Evolving it into Walrein appears to grant both a legacy fast move and a legacy charged move, rather than only one type of legacy attack.

The window will not remove Frustration from Shadow Pokémon. A Shadow Deino evolved during the celebration would still keep Frustration, so check each Pokémon before spending Candy or evolving a high-IV catch. These move findings come from community research and are worth double-checking in-game before making an important evolution.

The PokémonXP and Worlds GO Pass runs through August 30

Trainers automatically receive GO Pass: PokémonXP & 2026 Worlds on August 25 at 10:00 a.m. local time. GO Points can be earned to rank up and unlock rewards through Sunday, August 30, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

There is no daily limit on GO Points from Saturday, August 29, at 12:00 a.m. through Sunday, August 30, at 7:59 p.m. local time. Rewards unlocked through the pass expire Tuesday, September 1, at 7:59 p.m. local time, so claim them before they vanish.

The free pass includes encounters with event-themed Pokémon. Trainers can upgrade to GO Pass Deluxe for US$4.99, or the equivalent local pricing tier, to receive upgraded rewards and progress faster. GO Pass Deluxe + 6 Ranks costs US$6.99 and automatically provides enough GO Points to reach Rank 7.

Deluxe rewards include the 2026 Worlds/PokémonXP Backpack, an encounter with Zapdos, and extra encounters with event-themed Pokémon. Zapdos caught through this GO Pass has a wider range of Attack, Defense, and HP values. The backpack will also be available in the in-game shop after the event ends.

Major GO Pass milestone rewards

• Tier 1 – Rank 10: 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon.
• Tier 2 – Rank 20: An additional 3,000 XP from raids.
• Tier 2 – Rank 20 Deluxe Pass: Up to two additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs.

Field Research and stickers

Field Research tasks offer chances to encounter event-themed Pokémon. Celebration stickers can be collected by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, or purchasing them from the in-game shop.

The Water Festival ends as the Worlds celebration begins

The Ultra Unlock: Water Festival 2026 event continues until Monday, August 24, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Arrokuda and Cramorant made their Pokémon GO debuts during the event, which also features a GO Pass, better Shiny odds for selected Pokémon, and catch bonuses that increase across the event.

The main 2026 Pokémon World Championships event runs worldwide from August 28–30. It brings event-themed Pokémon, featured attacks, a limited-time GO Pass, and exclusive Timed Research through Twitch Drops. The Cosmog-spacesuit Pikachu debuts during PokémonXP, while the Crowned Pikachu with a WCS costume arrives on August 30.

August GO Pass and the Forever Forward season

The August 2026 GO Pass and GO Pass Deluxe remain active with rewards that include an encounter with Lugia, XP and Stardust bonuses, and the Lucky Trinket. Trainers earn GO Points by completing Pass Tasks and unlock milestone rewards as they rank up. Deluxe rewards can be accessed through the Pokémon GO Web Store.

The Forever Forward season runs from June 2 through September 8, 2026. Its season-long focus includes new Mega Pokémon, new Dynamax Pokémon, and GO Fest content.

GO Battle League schedule

GO Battle League: Memories in Motion began on June 2 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7). The active formats change during this week:

The starred formats provide 4× Stardust from win rewards. The bonus does not apply to end-of-set rewards.

Eggs, Adventure Sync, and Routes rewards

Forever Forward includes several highlighted Egg pools. These are not complete hatch lists, but they show some of the Pokémon Trainers may find in each group.

Regular Eggs

• 2 km Eggs: Exeggcute, Corphish, and Wynaut.
• 5 km Eggs: Riolu, Mantyke, and Flittle.
• 10 km Eggs: Mawile, Absol, and Frigibax.
• 7 km Eggs: Alolan Diglett, Galarian Darumaka, and Galarian Corsola.

Adventure Sync Eggs

• 5 km Adventure Sync Eggs: Tyrogue, Budew, and Sableye.
• 10 km Adventure Sync Eggs: Bagon, Drampa, and Druddigon.

Routes rewards

Seven-kilometer Eggs received through Mateo Gift Exchanges can hatch Hisuian Sneasel, Hisuian Growlithe, or White-Striped Basculin.

Research Breakthrough encounters

Completing Field Research during the season can lead to a Research Breakthrough encounter with one of the following Pokémon:
