Pokémon GO Trainer Entered a GO Battle League Match With Most of Its HUD Missing

After 13 seconds on a white screen, the trainer joined a fight already underway and could not see the charge controls, energy, shields, or their roster at first.

A Pokémon GO Trainer entered a GO Battle League fight already underway, but nearly every part of the battle interface was missing. The opponent’s Togekiss had already attacked several times, while the trainer could not see charge-move icons, energy, CP values, shield counts, or even their own reserve Pokémon at first.

Seen a lot of GBL bugs but this was new for me

The trainer said white-screen starts had sometimes led to a normal battle after a 4-to-8-second delay, with the usual 3-2-1 countdown. In worse cases, only the opponent appeared, forcing an app restart and leaving the trainer with a loss. This time, the white screen lasted 13 seconds before the player loaded into the active match.

The battle actions still worked despite the missing visuals. Fast attacks generated energy and charge moves were usable, but the trainer had no way to check how much energy was ready. When a Pokémon fainted, the icons for choosing its replacement were invisible too. The reserve Pokémon only appeared after the first charge moves were used.

At the end, the opponent’s Palkia did not render on screen, appearing as a glowing white ball as the trainer finished it off. They said they had won more than 18,000 GBL battles and had never encountered anything like it.
