A new map indicator in Pokémon GO shows which Pokémon or PokéStop the Explorer Gadget is preparing to interact with. One Trainer spotted the marker while the gadget was active, though the sighting does not establish how widely it is available.
The small icon has an outer ring that fills before the gadget acts. Trainers can still interact with the Pokémon or PokéStop themselves during that window. If a Pokémon runs away, a message appears beside the gadget icon.
In August, an Explorer Gadget panel described a tool that automatically throws Poké Balls and spins PokéStops while Pokémon GO is closed. That screen showed a once-per-day use and counters of 0/50 for both activities.
