Palworld has a new way to make the Palpagos Islands look sharper. The Ultra Graphics mod, released to celebrate the game’s 1.0 launch, has already passed 18,000 downloads.
Created by Nexus Mods user Fr4nsson, the mod focuses on lighting rather than adding new creatures or gameplay systems. It uses ray-traced Lumen global illumination, along with a longer view distance, brighter sunlight and ambient lighting, and dynamic shadows from torches and other light sources.
That last part could make a real difference at night. Palworld already includes options for DLSS, shadows, and grass detail, but torches and similar lights do not affect their surroundings as broadly as this mod aims to achieve.
Fr4nsson has some experience with lighting tweaks. Their Fallout 4 project has reached 1.2 million downloads since its 2015 release, giving the creator a sizable track record before bringing the idea to Pocketpair’s survival game.
Installing Ultra Graphics takes more work than downloading a standard mod through a manager such as Vortex. The creator provides detailed installation instructions for players who want to try it.
There is one important limitation for multiplayer groups. The visual changes are client-side, so other players will not see the altered lighting unless they install the mod on their own systems too.
If you try Ultra Graphics, tell us what you think about its lighting changes in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, and Instagram.
