Oxide Room 208 Revives Intense Body-Horror on Xbox

Oxide Room 208 offers a visceral psychological horror experience on Xbox with brutal survival gameplay.

Oxide Room 208 is a psychological horror game that throws you into a disturbing world where eight people are trapped inside a decaying lab-motel hybrid where you play as Eva who starts losing her grip on reality as the environment warps into a grotesque nightmare filled with madness and unethical science. To survive, you’ll have to uncover dark secrets and find the elusive Door 208 to escape.

The game features nine characters, each modeled after real actors using current motion and facial capture technology. These characters include a cannibal hiker, horror streamers, and a rock legend, among others. Everyone hides dark motives, and death doesn’t necessarily mean the end since fallen characters can return as terrifying “revenants.” There’s some seriously chilling body horror here, mixed with hidden agendas and playable musicians like Samael Tselios (ANBR) and Carlos Escobedo (Sôber). It’s an intense, unpredictable horror experience.

You’ll look at seven different locations that feel almost organic, reflecting Eva’s deteriorating mental state. Each environment has interactive elements that let you plan your survival, choose alternate paths to avoid danger or hunt down the armory to prepare for combat. It’s a careful balance between stealth and aggression.

Oxide Room 208 is a survival experience that feels real. You’ll have to manage weapons and resources carefully, with every action feeling weighty. The game offers an “interesting dual perspective,” letting you switch between a close-up first-person view and a wider third-person perspective. The first-person view cranks up the tension and claustrophobia and the third-person mode helps with situational awareness. It’s a neat way to balance immediacy and planning.

Survival means navigating dangerous areas, deciding when to avoid threats or when to fight. Revenants, those twisted versions of fallen characters, add another layer of danger that keeps you on your toes. Yikes, right?

Oxide Room 208 is not a gentle experience. It’s often described as a “meat grinder”, intense, unforgiving, and visceral. This game targets players who want a serious challenge and aren’t afraid to confront darkness head-on. It’s a brutal body horror journey that demands courage. Do you have what it takes to stare into the abyss and not blink? To go into a raw, honest story that doesn’t pull punches? If so, stepping through Door 208 might be your next move.

Feel free to share your thoughts or experiences with Oxide Room 208 in the comments below.
