Once Human Will Make Character Customization and Hair Dye Free on September 28
The update will remove Chrysalis Tokens and Butterfly Dye from sales channels and refund eligible recent purchases through in-game mail.
Once Human will remove the item cost from character reshaping and color palette hair dye when its September 28 version update arrives. The development team detailed the planned changes in its development blog, which also outlines refunds and a lower price for gender changes.
All dates in the announcement use PT. After the update, players will be able to adjust facial features, body shape, and hair color without spending Chrysalis Tokens or Butterfly Dye. The change is meant to make appearance adjustments easier to try, since the current system requires players to obtain the relevant items before using the Floor Mirror in their Territory.
Reshaping and color palette hair dye will cost nothing
The Floor Mirror will continue to handle facial and body changes, but those edits will no longer consume an item. Color palette hair dye will work the same way, allowing players to change their hair color whenever they want without keeping Butterfly Dye in reserve.
This announcement concerns character reshaping and color palette hair dye. It is separate from the earlier Fashion set dye overhaul, which changed how outfit components were priced and reduced the cost of dyeing full sets.
Old customization items will convert into Colorful Badges
Chrysalis Tokens and Butterfly Dye will be removed from the Shop, Wish Bazaar, New/Returning Player Recruit Shop, Currency Quick Redeem, and other sales channels. Players will keep any copies they already obtained. Their descriptions will change to This item has expired. Shape-shifting/hair dyeing no longer requires items.
Using the expired items after the update will convert them into Colorful Badges.

Colorful Badges can unlock dyed versions in the closet, save Fashion dye presets, purchase dye items in the Shop, and redeem cosmetics at the Radiance Shop.
Gender changes will also become cheaper
Metamorphosis Tokens will remain in the game because changing a character’s gender is still intended to be a more deliberate choice. Their price will fall from 880 Crystgin to 300 Crystgin with the September 28 update.
Recent purchases qualify for refunds
Purchases made within the 3 months before the version update will qualify for compensation. Chrysalis Tokens and Butterfly Dye purchased through the Shop with Crystgin or Colorful Badges will receive a full refund based on the currency and quantity spent. Crystgin purchases will return as Crystgin, while Colorful Badge purchases will return as Colorful Badges.
Metamorphosis Token purchases from that same period will receive 70% of the difference between the old and new prices in Crystgin. A token purchased for 880 Crystgin would create a price difference of 580 Crystgin, resulting in a refund of 406 Crystgin.
For another example, buying 2 Chrysalis Tokens and 3 Butterfly Dyes with Crystgin would qualify for a full refund of 1,320 Crystgin under the announcement’s example. Purchases made outside the 3-month window will not qualify.
Compensation will be sent automatically through in-game mail after the September 28 update. Players with questions about the amount they receive can contact in-game customer service for help.
