Once Human’s August 25 Notice Lays Out Every Lightforge Loot Crate Rate
The updated rules add a Lightforge Gem guarantee every 20 openings for crates launched in 2025 and later, while the first 10 Ingot purchases receive a 50% discount.

Once Human has published updated Lightforge Loot Crate rules and a full probability breakdown covering current and returning crate themes. Newer crates can award a Lightforge Gem at a base rate of 7%, while the updated guarantee gives players one Gem within every 20 openings.
The rules and crate-by-crate rates appeared in the development team’s August 25 Steam announcement. The announcement covers the newer Lightforge system, return events, 2024 themes, and a long list of cosmetic pools.
How the updated Lightforge system works
Opening a Lightforge Loot Crate costs 1 Lightforge Ingot, with each Ingot valued at 160 Crystgin. The first 10 Lightforge Ingot purchases receive a 50% discount. A crate can be opened a maximum of 9,999 times, although its limited-time availability ends before that cap in normal use.
Every crate awards either a cosmetic or a Lightforge Gem. Cosmetics earned from the crates can be shared across every character on the account. Lightforge Ingots, Lightforge Relics, and Lightforge Gems remain on the account after a crate leaves the game and can be used with other Lightforge themes.
For crates launched in 2025 and later, one Lightforge Gem is guaranteed every 20 openings. Receiving a Gem resets the counter, and the system can award one Gem per 20 draws without an overall Gem limit. The exact rules for each crate remain the final authority when a specific theme is active.
The Redemption Shop contains cosmetics from the active theme, along with limited quantities of Lightforge Ingots, Colorful Badges, and other tokens. Each cosmetic can be redeemed once. A cosmetic already obtained from a crate cannot be redeemed, while a duplicate drawn after a shop redemption converts into the Lightforge Relics spent on that item.
Vault Returns can include 3 crates
The updated Vault Returns event lets players choose between multiple returning Lightforge Loot Crates. Each round begins with 1 Loot Crate Key, and this round allows participation in up to 3 crates.
Players can receive an extra crate opportunity when they obtain a new, previously unowned Lightforge Collection item for the first time in each of the first two crates they join. That creates a path to as many as 2 additional keys. Switching between crate selections does not consume an attempt until a player draws from a crate, redeems something in its shop, or buys discounted Lightforge Ingots.
Return crates also track collection progress and grant tiered rewards based on the number of Lightforge Collection items earned from the matching themes. The event includes an exclusive collection challenge, while the original draw rates, redemption costs, and guarantee systems remain unchanged. Previous guarantee progress carries over when a player returns to a crate theme they used before.
If a guarantee counter or collection reward does not carry over correctly, the team advises signing in with the character that previously participated in the relevant crate. That reactivates character record synchronization.

Featured rewards across the newer themes
The named collection rewards range from fashion sets and weapon skins to furniture, territory items, vehicle cosmetics, poses, charms, and formulas. Celestial Anthem includes the Cosmic Hymn Set and Formula: Spear Knight, while Dream Tide includes Void Wings Skin – Enchanted Butterfly, Cyan Ripple Mirage, Tideborn Dream Set, Prismatic Drift, and Azure Enigma – SN700.
Eldritch Diadem has Everlight Sea, Abyssal Touch Set, The Eye of Devouring, and several Flowing Light fence pieces. Desert Oracle includes the Dune Oracle Set and Void Wings Skin: Moonstrider. Other newer pools include Fallen Abyss Set and Wish Machine – Echo in Ember Conclave, Sanzu Crossings Set and Shoreless – Sword in Sanzu Beyond, and Bloodthirsty Mecha Set, Doom’s Embrace – SOCR, and Skyguard in Ravenous Gear.
The very rarest entries include the Ultra Lightforge Collection rewards in Eldritch Diadem and Ravenous Gear, each at 0.01%, while the Mythic reward in Dream Tide and Celestial Reverie is listed at 0.03%. Frostshade has the highest Gem rate in the announcement at 8.40%.
Rules for 2024 Lightforge themes
Crates tied to 2024 themes follow an older structure. Each opening is guaranteed to award a cosmetic, and only 1 character on an account can draw from the same crate. The cosmetic can still be shared across the account afterward.
These crates use a 30-draw pity system for Lightforge Collection items. Once a Collection item appears, it leaves the prize pool, which raises the chances of the remaining rewards. The counter resets after each Collection item, and the guarantee ends once all Collection items have been drawn.
Duplicates from the remaining reward pool convert into Lightforge Relics. Those Relics can be used to redeem cosmetics from the current or other themes, as well as a limited number of Lightforge Ingots. The announcement lists maximum opening counts of 150 for Beach Holiday, Hype Party, and Pyro Glide, and 90 for Freezing Mist, Cloud Command, Arcane Celestial, Techno Stampede, and Urban Oddities. The Beach Holiday section refers to the limit as Beach Bash, which appears to be the wording used in that individual crate rule.
With the rates now published in one place, players can compare the tiny Collection odds against the 20-opening Gem guarantee before spending Crystgin.
