NVIDIA has just released its Geforce 572.83 WHQL driver, and if you’re a PC gamer, you might want to pay attention. This update promises some exciting enhancements for popular titles like Half-Life 2 RTX Demo and Warhammer 40K: Darktide. However, a few surprises along the way may not be what we were hoping for.
The release notes highlight support for games using DLSS technology, including Assassin’s Creed Shadows, The Last of Us Part II Remastered, and an upgraded version of Control. Plus, it introduces inZOI with NVIDIA ACE tech integration. Sounds promising, right? I decided to test this driver out with AC: Shadows myself. Spoiler alert: no performance boosts here! If you were expecting smoother gameplay from this update, you might feel slightly disappointed.

This new driver also tackles some pesky issues with the RTX 50 series GPUs. For example, overclocked cards will run at full speeds upon system reboot—finally! It also addresses those annoying black screen problems with the Hotfix 572.75 driver.
